We went into self-quarantine on March 14, 2020. No one knew how long it would last, or how intense it would be. We just knew we had to lock it down and wait. Throughout our quarantine, we kept track of our day to day—what else was there to do? Here’s our family log of our first 60 days in lockdown, with pictures and the occasional audio interview.
Days 50-52
A few uneventful days in a row is not necessarily a bad thing. Camille's sleep has held steady. Praise be. Life with sleep is...very. Very. Different.
The days continue to blur, and time continues to mean nothing. I started a puzzle last night, though.
Today for lunch my pizza craving became too much to handle, and we had Pizza Tree delivered. Y'all, I'm here to tell you that this spicy kimchi and pork belly pizza situation is better than one could dream.
Tonight it was overcast but just the right temperature. While Leen took a break from parenting (after giving the children an afternoon of schooling) to hack away at the never ever-ending yard project, I convinced the girls to explore our woods with me.
A large tree toppled over a couple of weeks ago, just like that, a THWUMP in the night. I was bummed because I don't like losing trees and really don't like spending days with a chainsaw cutting it up. But the way it fell, and where it fell, resulted in a pretty cool criss-cross of tree trunks and large branches to walk on. In this pic (above) the girls are probably 7 feet in the air on the big tree. We all ended up creeping a little higher.
Essie ended the day asking me to take a picture of this flower in her hair, because she is so so pure.
Days 53-60
TWO MONTHS! HAHAHAHAHhahahaha...hah...ha.
Well. That went by fast. Because ev-er-y-day-is-the-same.
The photos on my phone are artifacts for time and events that I otherwise can't remember very well, or at least not in any sort of grounded order.
Essie was very on about the pink flower. More tree climbing. We made ice cream one day!
So much yardwork.
Here's to two more months.
